đź”’ Privacy Commitment: We believe your vehicle, maintenance records, and driving costs belong solely to you. AutoKeep is engineered with a strict local-first offline architecture. Your vehicle logs, fuel records, receipt scans, and insurance vault documents are stored securely on your local device and are never tracked, sold, or shared with proprietary remote servers.
1. Information Stored Locally on Your Device
All core application data is stored in your device's sandboxed private SQLite/Room database and local app storage. This data includes:
Maintenance & Service History: Service dates, itemized tasks, mileage intervals, costs, service center names, custom notes, and attached receipt images.
Fuel & Efficiency Logs: Fuel volume, unit cost, total fill-up expense, and calculated MPG / L/100km efficiency curves.
Tire Health Telemetry: Tread depth measurements, TPMS tire pressure records, and rotation logs.
Glovebox Document Vault: Insurance policies, vehicle registration cards, and inspection records saved locally as private photos.
Service Reminders: Custom due dates and mileage milestones for upcoming preventative maintenance.
This data is stored on your device only and is never uploaded to any central server operated by us.
2. Device Hardware Permissions & Local Processing
AutoKeep requests the following optional Android system permissions to power specific on-device utilities:
Camera (android.permission.CAMERA): Used to scan VIN barcodes, capture receipt invoices for automated OCR data extraction, and scan QR codes for peer-to-peer garage backup. All barcode and text recognition is performed 100% on-device using Google ML Kit. No camera frames, photos, or documents are ever transmitted over the network.
Notifications (android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Used exclusively to deliver scheduled vehicle maintenance reminders and mileage alerts created by you. Notifications are scheduled locally using Android WorkManager without requiring remote push notification servers.
Flashlight (android.permission.FLASHLIGHT): Used as an optional toggle to illuminate VIN barcodes and paper invoices during camera scanning in low-light environments.
3. Third-Party Services & Network Requests
AutoKeep connects to the internet strictly for the following third-party integrations and compliance purposes:
U.S. Department of Transportation / NHTSA VPIC API: When looking up vehicle specifications or safety recalls, the app queries the public NHTSA API (vpic.nhtsa.dot.gov and api.nhtsa.gov) over secure HTTPS to retrieve official vehicle safety bulletins and manufacturer recall notices.
Google AdMob (Advertisements): The free tier of the app displays non-intrusive banner advertisements provided by Google AdMob. Google AdMob may collect and process device identifiers (such as the Google Advertising ID), coarse location derived from IP address, and app diagnostic/crash information to serve ads and prevent fraudulent traffic. You can manage or reset your advertising preferences through your Android device settings.

Google Play In-App Billing: Optional lifetime upgrades (ad removal & premium features) are processed directly by the Google Play Store via Google Play In-App Billing API. We never see, process, or store your payment cards, bank information, or billing address.
4. Peer-to-Peer Garage Sharing & Backup
AutoKeep provides tools to export or share garage records with family or fleet members via QR codes or local file export. This communication is direct (peer-to-peer) and does not route through any cloud database or server.
5. Data Retention, Backup, and Deletion Requests
AutoKeep provides full transparency and complete user control over all stored data:
In-App Deletion: You can delete any vehicle profile, service record, fuel log, or glovebox document individually at any time from within the app.
Local Data Wipe / App Removal: Because AutoKeep does not maintain remote user accounts or proprietary cloud databases, uninstalling the application or selecting "Clear Storage / Clear Data" in Android App Settings permanently erases 100% of your vehicle records, databases, and receipt photos from your device with zero data retention.
Data Deletion Requests & Support: If you have questions regarding data deletion, or wish to request confirmation of data removal, you may submit a request by emailing developer@jubaroo.com with the subject "AutoKeep Data Deletion Request".
6. Children’s Privacy
AutoKeep does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13. The application is intended for general vehicle owners and operators.
